Conference of the “Digital Integration” network featuring the “Knights of Communication” prize-giving ceremony. On 10 November 2009, Solothurn’s Landhaus will be hosting the third conference of the "Digital Integration Switzerland” network, under the title “Using the new media competently – pre-conditions, requirements and measures”. Discussions and exchanges on the theme of empowering people to competently use the new media, particularly the internet will form the focus of this year’s meeting.

What is e-Inclusion?
Information and communication technologies (ICT) play an important role in modern life. More and more people live and work in digitally networked environments. They are increasingly using computers, the internet or mobile communications in the various aspects of their lives – work, everyday life or leisure.
Goals for Switzerland
At present not all people are able to exploit the benefits of ICT. There are people who have no access to the new forms of media or are not able to learn how to use means of communication. This is where e-Inclusion plays a role. The goal of e-Inclusion is to eliminate obstacles and support and integrate people in the acquisition of skills.
